Brand new play area for 0 – 8s in Golborne!
A fantastic new community specially designed for the youngest local residents is now open outside Golborne’s Children Centre in Talbot St. Made possible by Lottery funding, the play area is open from 9am until 6pm and is an exciting, safe and clean place for young children to enjoy themselves.
All children attending nurseries in Golborne were invited to enter a competition to draw an illustration of the play area. Parents who attend the regular coffee morning at the Children’s Centre chose the beautiful winning entry designed by Millie Rava, aged 4, who attends Little Angels Day Nursery. As one of her prizes, Millie was invited to cut the ribbon at the official opening ceremony in July.
A competition for local primary school children to name the park was won by Kacie Valente, age 6, who attends All Saints Primary. She suggested the name “Sunflower Park” and her entry was chosen by the Golborne Gingerbread group which meets at the Children’s Centre.
