Little Angels Day Nursery provides high quality, affordable childcare for children aged from 8 weeks to 11 years old. This includes nursery care for children aged up to 5 plus a breakfast club, after school club and holiday club for children aged up to 11.
Based at the purpose built Children’s Centre next to Golborne Community Primary School, Little Angels offers excellent childcare provision in a safe, secure, welcoming and attractive environment. The nursery is small and friendly and nearly every member of staff has been with the nursery since it opened in 2007, giving a real family atmosphere that parents and children love. As well as constant investment in new toys and equipment, Little Angels also provides fantastic outdoor play facilities. As mothers themselves, owners Nicki Kettle and Juliette Blower place enormous emphasis on health and safety and parents can relax in the knowledge that their children are in very capable and caring hands.
Nicki and Juliette have 30 years of childcare experience between them, including several years of nursery management and strive at all times to provide the very best in childcare and Early Years Education. Owner Nicki says, “We both have young children and our aim is to provide exactly the same type of childcare we would want for our own families. This means stable, secure and affectionate care and allowing children to flourish at their own pace. We also encourage healthy eating in a friendly social atmosphere and make sure learning is fun for your child, what ever their age or needs.”
In our happy environment, you can be certain that our child will receive the best possible care and attention. We give every child time and opportunity to develop physical, intellectual, emotional and social skills with the guidance of our experienced and qualified staff. We look forward to caring for your little angel!
Little Angels operates an open door policy and parents are welcome to visit at any time with or without an appointment.
The nursery offers places for 49 children aged between 8 weeks and 5 years and aims to provide an inclusive, friendly and stimulating environment, catering for the needs of every individual child and family. Owner Juliette says, “ Children and babies develop so rapidly in the first 5 years of life, we aim to provide every opportunity through play and stimulation to encourage your child to develop and reach their full potential.”
Tinies ages 0 - 2
We can accommodate up to 9 babies with a staff ratio of 1 – 3. All nappies, wipes and food are provided unless you wish to bring your own. All you need to bring is the milk feed if your baby is still being bottle-fed. A selection of toys and activities are made available which are sterilised at the end of each day. A variety of experiences such as water, paint, dough, sand and jelly are provided for babies to investigate. All planning is done within the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Toddlers ages 2 – 3
With one member of staff for every four children, we can accommodate up to 16 children at any one time. The room is divided into different areas including creative, quiet, sand & water, small world, construction and mark making and the children are encouraged to access these independently. Each child has a snooze mat and their own bedding. Toilet training is started at around 2 years after discussion and mutual agreement between parents and staff. All activities are planned within the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Pre-school ages 3 – 5
With one member of staff for 8 children, this group work together with the children and staff from the school nursery. We accommodate 24 children for full day care and there are 54 children in the two rooms altogether. When the children move into this room they start to work towards the Early Years Foundation Stage, which will be continued in their reception class. Like the toddler room, this room is also divided into separate areas, giving the children free access to choose their own toys. This will enable them to become more independent and take ownership of their own learning.
Children over 3 are eligible for a free nursery place up to 15 hours per week (38 weeks a year), which can be spread flexibly – please ask at the nursery for details.
We, like you, think it is extremely important that your child settles into nursery happily. We encourage a “settling in” period of three one-hour sessions free of charge ( more sessions can be offered depending on individual needs.)
Breakfast Club, After School Club & Holiday Club Facilities
Breakfast & After School Clubs
Open to pupils from Golborne St Thomas’ and Golborne Community Primary, the clubs are educational and fun for children while helping parents to fit work commitments around school hours.
All children have a choice of breakfast cereals, toast, fruit and a drink in Breakfast Club while After School provides a hot tea and dessert with drinks available throughout the session. There is a large outdoor play area and a wide range of stimulating toys for all age ranges plus laptops, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.
Open to children aged 4 - 11 from any primary school
Most jobs do not fit round school hours and holidays (especially the long summer break) and childcare for fourteen weeks a year can be a headache. This year, plan your child’s routine ahead, then relax, safe in the knowledge that the kids will be safe, well looked after and have a great time.
Children are provided with breakfast, snacks and tea while parents provide a packed lunch for lunchtime to enable us to make the most of any fine weather and take the children to a local park. There are lots of themed days planned throughout the holidays and visits including birds of prey, the bug man and the Outdoor Play Team. Lots of trips are also planned, including visits to Tatton Park and Manchester Science and Industry Museum.
Places can be booked for full or half days with discounts for a full week’s booking. To book, places must be confirmed at least one week before the start of the school holidays. We can also help with emergency places if you need childcare for just the odd day.

My four-year-old daughter has been coming to Little Angels for over two years. The nursery was recommended to me after I had to take her out of another nursery that she was unhappy at.
We were made very welcome from the very beginning and Millie settled in very quickly as the staff are so friendly and helpful and I have noticed all the staff in all rooms know every child’s name. Millie has bloomed at the nursery and gained a lot of confidence as she feels so secure there. The staff also played a big part in potty training her!
When I had my second child Maisie I had no doubt that she would go to Little Angels too. She loves attending and adores the staff. I have recommended this nursery to all my friends as I feel it is the best in the area. It has the friendliest, kindliest staff who lovingly look after both my children. I will feel very sad when Millie starts school and can no longer attend.
Thank you to everyone at the nursery for making the whole family feel very, very welcome. Also a big thank you for all the wonderful songs you have taught them both, especially "The Little Green Frog!"
We started looking at nurseries when our son was about six months old. We narrowed it down to two nurseries and picked Little Angels because the staff were very friendly and approachable each time we saw them. We also preferred a smaller nursery as the larger ones seem so impersonal.
I am so glad we picked Little Angels; my son loves it there and has really developed well. Last winter he had a febrile convulsion whilst at nursery and everyone knew what to do, Nicki even brought him to hospital in the ambulance. It really puts your mind at ease when you can trust the staff with your precious
'My daughter has attended Little Angels since she was 9 months old, I viewed lots of nurseries but none of them made me feel 100% happy about leaving my precious daughter. But then I found 'Little Angels', and from the first 'viewing' I knew it was the nursery I wanted for Amelia. I can honestly not recommend this place highly enough - it met all the standards I was looking for (and my standards were pretty high!!!).
Amelia especially loves all the staff, who are all qualified and experienced, but most of all they are all caring and loving. This is what I think makes Little Angels so special and unique. It makes me feel happy and puts my mind at rest as a working mum to know she is getting lots of attention and cuddles whilst I am at work. We are very happy and grateful to all the staff and Nicki the manager for giving our daughter the very best care and development in her early years.
I would recommend 'Little Angels' to anyone looking for childcare. Amelia is now 3 years old and she absolutely loves going to 'Little Angels'. So much so, she cries when it’s the weekend and she can’t go!!!!!
